Modela Alemán (front)

Modela Alemán (back)

Modela Alemán back in Brazilian Rosewood

"The
Modela Alemán model has a scale length of 650 - 660 mm, but other scale length can be used, such as 645 and 655.  The Modela Alemán model is lighter and more delicate than the Modela Especial model, and because woods that are used can differ quite radically from those used by Hermann Hauser Sr., the term Modela Alemán is used quite loosely, referring primarily to the body shape."

Tom

These are photographs of  the  Modela Alemán style guitar.  The body shape is the same as a Hauser Sr., from the mid-1940s.

Thomas Beltran Guitars builds a copy of a 1943 Hauser, using German or Englemann Spruce for the top, and Brazilian Rosewood for the Back/Sides.  The scale length is 650mm or 660mm.  We also use the general size and dimensions for guitars with other woods.

The Modela Alemán style guitar pictured at left has Indian Rosewood back/sides and a redwood top.
